Its main purpose is to combine efforts to fight against impunity, and to support victims in their quest for justice by offering legal assistance, raising awareness of the situation in the media, and filing complaints based on the principle of universal jurisdiction.

AVT UAE documents the use of torture in the UAE by gathering information from various source, including the testimonies of victims, lawyers and family members, UN experts as well as NGOs. It creates a network of victims and a space for dialogue between them.
